The lovely spikes of Lavender blossoms in early summer attract such a variety of pollinators, but none so flashy as the golden Yellow Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly, seemingly drifting haphazardly along, but finding its way from flower to choice flower with a few deliberate beats of its wings. Bees of every shape and size join the party, as do many a moth, ladybugs, inchworms, and even the occasionaly snail, in the right climate.

Free-hand embroidered on my straight-stitch sewing mahine, made of Lavender Fields motif cloth, handwoven by Greentree Weaving, and thrifted teal corduroy with two layers of repurposed blue jean sandwiched between them, all pre-shrunk, this potholder measures approximately 7 1/2" x 7 1/2".
